We were in Chicago yesterday at the Museum of Contemporary Art and saw the piece Turbulent by Shirin Neshat.
It called me from the other galleries, this siren call, a woman’s voice breaking out into a multi-layered caterwaul of emotion.
I wandered into the dark gallery and saw a man on a screen

staring across the room at a woman singing on another screen.

Such singing.
The singer is Sussan Deyhim and she has some CDs I am trying to track down.
I found two interviews with Shirin Neshat from the Charlie Rose show: one and two. Skip to the middle to see her.
